Campbell Brown Planning assisted the Piha Café to gain non-notified consent to amend a number of conditions of its existing resource consent for its café operation. The establishment of the Café was a very sensitive matter which created much debate in the local community. The original application was considered by the Environment Court. Campbell Brown Planning assisted the Piha Café to obtain consent for additional building areas, to upgrade the existing car park and to enable the Café to apply for a liquor licence by removing a condition of consent restricting the sale of liquor. In our view, the condition was ultra vires. We were able to satisfy the Council, that in any event the removal of the condition would not result in any adverse effects on the environment.
If you are out at Piha visit the Café, they do superb coffee!
