Mt Albert Baptist Church, Mt Albert, Auckland

This project involved major renovations to the existing Mt Albert Baptist Church, which included substantial additions to buildings on the site to provide for a larger auditorium capable of accommodating 300 people, along with new lounge and kitchen facilities. The consent also provided for a reconfiguration of parking areas, earthworks and tree removal.

The resource consent application was obtained on a non-notified basis. Working with architects Brewer Davidson, the proposal involved a number of matters that were subject to close scrutiny including noise from use of the expanded auditorium, a car parking shortfall, and expansion of the church on land that is residentially zoned.
