Michelle (Waikato, Ngāti Paoa, Rongowhakaata) has over 18 years of planning experience, a Masters of Resource and Environmental Planning (with distinction), and is a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute. She has extensive national and international experience, having worked in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. While her broad knowledge in resource management means she is skilled at identifying and addressing key obstacles to a project, she is also adept at providing solutions to ensure projects succeed.
Michelle’s expertise lies in the preparation of fast track applications, private plan changes, resource consents (including complex notified and non-notified consent processes), consultation and iwi engagement. Her skill set includes presenting reports and expert evidence at Council hearings and the Environment Court, as well as reviewing and making submissions on planning policy at national, regional, and district levels.
Passionate about development, Michelle collaborates closely with clients to shape projects that achieve the best possible results for both them and the environment.
An outdoors enthusiast, when she’s not in the office, Michelle loves spending time with her two children, particularly at the beach, surfing, swimming, and fishing.
